The origins of B. Nektar
From small beginnings...
B. Nektar Meadery was founded in 2006 by Brad and Kerri Dahlhofer in Ferndale, MI a small town just outside of Detroit.
Kerri was laid-off from her job. While sipping a glass of Brad's home-brew she thought, “Why not try to sell this?” The two set out to figure out how to launch their business. In December of 2007 they welcomed the birth of their first (of two) sons. Three months later, in the spring of 2008, Brad too fell victim to layoffs. Kerri said to Brad, "F&#K IT! This is what we're supposed to do!" and they put everything on the line. On August 2nd 2008, they finally opened in a small garage outside of Detroit.

Founder and chief brand visionary. Kerri is the creative force behind our branding. She designs our labels, handles the book-keeping, and manages our taproom. Mom, wife, business owner; A real superstar!
Brad Dahlhofer, Co-Founder
Co-Founder and chief fix-it-guy. He has decades of experience both as a homebrewer and as the head of production at B. Nektar. And now he's focused that expertise into crafting our SOBER line of Mocktails.
